Voice of Truth Radio was born out of a desire to encourage the saints through solid biblical teaching and to give reasons for faith to those who are looking for the truth. In our day nothing is more important then knowing who you follow.
In many different areas of life we hear about all different kinds of Jesus's out there. We have the mormon Jesus, jehova's witness Jesus, new age Jesus, catholic Jesus, and the Jesus of the scriptures along with many more. I suppose the same question that Jesus gave to his disciples still applies today:
"Now Jesus and His disciples went out to the towns of Caesarea Philippi; and on the road He asked His disciples, saying to them, "Who do men say that I am?""
"So they answered, "John the Baptist; but some say, Elijah; and others, one of the prophets.""
"He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" Peter answered and said to Him, "You are the Christ.""
Mark 8:27-29
How would you answer that question? More then anything else that single question has been answered by various people in all sorts of different ways. The issue of who Jesus is has caused many to be lead astray by false teachings and ideas that are simply only mans ideas. It is extremly important that both you and I take the time to answer that questions honestly and then read the Bible which gives the actual account of Jesus's life and follow what it teachs.
The programs that we do are geared towards two different things.
Friday Night Program
On Friday nights we listen to some of today's best independent Christian music from artists all over the country. Sometimes we are blessed to have some live preformances right here in VOTR's studio which has allowed their fans to interact and ask questions that they normally would not be able to ask.
Our main goal for the Friday program is to relax, have some fellowship, and just enjoy the Lord. Sometimes we can be serious and sometimes we can be funny but what we really want to accomplish is to give a place for independent Christian artists to come and share their ministry with our Listeners. We do hope that during these shows that people enjoy the music they hear but more importantly be focusing on the Lord while helping to support someones music ministry if they are led to do so.
Psalms 27:6 NKJV - "And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me; Therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in His tabernacle; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the LORD."
Psalms 47:6 NKJV - "Sing praises to God, sing praises! Sing praises to our King, sing praises!"
Saturday Afternoon Program
Our Saturday program is where we get into things ranging around various topics. We really believe that for us as Christians we need to have a biblical world view that shows us exactly what is going on. The amount of deception today in America and the whole world is simply amazing.
We look at many of the current events in light of what the bible teachs to help us form the correct view on events taking place all around us. The time is coming when our faith will be put to the test in ways that we have never experienced before here in America. Everything from politics to world religion is discussed to really take a look at it from how God sees it.
There are forces at work today in our world that is shaping our culture, our churches and our families that need to be exposed for what most of it is. The bible speaks of a time when:
Matthew 15:9 NKJV - "And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.' ""
1Timothy 4:1 NKJV - "Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons,"
It is no wonder that we see many prophecies coming to past and being fullfilled right before our eyes. Just look at the push for a New World Order with a call for one world currency and a one world religion. For us as believers how should we respond? What role does God want us to play? How can we prepare for what is coming? Does it really matter?
We take the time to cover some of the most under reported stories from across the globe to get a full biblical picture. I am often reminded when doing the program to:
Luke 21:28 NKJV - ""Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.""
